Studying in Paris Region. A pool of talent that’s constantly replenished

Paris Region hosts Europe’s largest concentration of students, representing 27% of the French student population (600,000 students), 17 universities and more than 350 advanced training centres, including around 50 engineering schools and globally reputed business schools. 4,000 theses are published here, every year.

The Campus Plan. Boosting public research
Three university campuses in Paris Region (Condorcet-Aubervilliers, Saclay and Paris Intramuros) have been selected by the French government to be part of its Campus Plan for creating effective research networks. Their development programmes are driven by ambitious educational and scientific goals, backed up by an increase in private/public partnerships. At the same time they are required to make sustainable urban development a defining element of their vision. Another important initiative is the creation of Regional Higher Education Centres (abbreviated as PRES – Pôles Régionaux d’Enseignement Supérieur) including Paris Tech which brings together France’s 11 leading engineering schools and major universities worldwide.Another key centre is UniverSud Paris which combines 2 universities and 3 Grandes Écoles in a hub with 50,000 students, 5,000 teaching research staff and 160 laboratories. Both initiatives enable institutions to pool resources and offer a more effective scientific capability that is easily accessible to businesses.
