Seine-Saint-Denis gears up to attract businesses.Helped by some strong selling points and affordable real estate prices, the département's economic development agency Seine-Saint-Denis Future plans to make the most of the crisis to convince new businesses to set up in Seine-Saint-Denis. The agency has been set up to replace the economic expansion committee, now dissolved, and will have a budget of approximately €3 million. While Seine-Saint-Denis enjoys a privileged position to the east and north of Paris, making it Paris Region's third département in the number of business start-ups, there are nonetheless significant geographic disparities within the department itself. The Chairman of the departmental council (Conseil Général) therefore has the job of balancing the department's economic development to enable the area and excluded sections of the population to benefit. Seine-Saint-Denis Future will act as a gateway for businesses to move into the department and a driving force behind the economy of Seine-Saint-Denis.
